During the COVID-19 pandemic, the United States education system was turned upside down. As school systems fought to adjust to quarantine mandates, many students struggled with the world changes around them as well as a change in their education. As parents attempted to meet their children’s academic needs, they began to consider homeschooling as a useful alternative, but weren’t really sure where to start. That’s when Homeschool and Chill was born.

Korreain Johnson had already been homeschooling her three children prior to the pandemic, and noticed that her children’s learning was hardly affected by the pandemic. She then decided to educate other parents on how to begin homeschooling through her YouTube channel called Homeschool and Chill. Homeschool and Chill became Korreain’s platform to ease parent’s anxiety about homeschooling and encourage them to just…chill. Today, Homeschool and Chill has spread its presence to Instagram and TikTok. Through funny reels, educational homeschool tips, and relatable stories, Korreain has worked to unite homeschool families and build their confidence in homeschooling.
